Solution

Dear student, Nitrogen fixation – During lightening or action of some microbes the inert nitrogen breaks down and combines with oxygen in air to form nitrous oxide. This process is called nitrogen fixation.Nitrification is the process of conversion of ammonia into nitrates and then into nitrites. This is done by nitrifying bacteria like nitrosomonas and nitrobacter. N2 ----------------------> NH3 --------------------> NO2 ------------------------> NO3 Ammonification Nitrification Nitrification Denitrification is the process of reducing the nitrates present in the soil to release nitrogen gas back into the atmosphere. NO3 ---------------------------> N2 Dentrification. Thanks and regards
