  1. Sertoli cell-only syndrome is characterized by the presence of only Sertoli cells in the seminiferous tubules and a lack of germ cells.
  2. It is also known as de Castillo syndrome or germ-cell aplasia.
  3. It affects men between the ages of 20 to 40.
  4. In this syndrome, the patients have very low or absent spermatogenesis.
  5. It is caused by a congenital lack of germ cells caused by gonocyte migration failure.
