Solution
Denaturation of protein:
Losing the quaternary, tertiary and secondary structure of a protein in the presence of heat, stress, or certain chemicals is called denaturation of protein.
It retains the primary structure.
Covalent bonds are broken and interactions between amino acids get disrupted.
Biological effect:
It causes the loss of the biological activity of proteins.
Example: Enzymes lose their catalytic ability after denaturation.
