Solution

The formula for the force (F) according to law of gravitation is given by,

F = G×ME×mobjR2

Given :

Mass of earth, ME =6×1024kg;

Radius of earth, R = 6.4×106m;

Gravitation, G =6.7×1011Nm2kg2

Mass of a body mobj = 150 kg

Plug in the values to the formula,

F =6.7×1011×6×1024×150(6.4×106)2

F= 6.7×6×150×10(11+24)(6.42×106×2)

F = 6030×101340.96×1012

F = 147.21×10(1312) = 147.21×10
F= 1472 N
