Solution
Lichen:
Lichens are complex organisms consisting of an alga and a fungus.
These two components are in a symbiotic or mutualistic relationship with each other.
Symbiotic association is the relationship between individuals where both the species benefits or harm or have no effect on each other.
In lichen, the dominant partner is a fungus which is known as the mycobiont.
The other component i.e. algae is known as the phycobiont.
