Open in App
Solution

  • A mole of a substance is referred to as the mass of the substance containing the same number of fundamental units as atoms in exactly 12.000 g of carbon-12.
  • These may be electrons, protons, neutrons, atoms, ions, etc.
  • The following formula can represent the number of moles of a substance in a given pure sample
  • n=N/NA where n is the number of moles of the substance.
  • NA is the Avogadro constant.
  • Hence A mole represents 6.022 x 1023molecules.
