Question

Which component of the blood doesn’t enter the filtrate?

Open in App
Solution

Glomerular filtrate:

  1. Blood is finely filtered through the glomerulus and the filtrate that passes through the Bowman's capsule is called the glomerular filtrate.
  2. Glomerular filtrate contains water, urea, glucose, salts, amino acids, etc.
  3. Blood cells and large protein molecules are not filtered by the glomerulus. These molecules don’t pass through the blood capillaries since they are large in size. Therefore, they don’t enter the filtrate.
