Solution

The correct option is E 12 Ω
(1) When all four in series then equivalent resistance R=6+6+6+6=24Ω
(2) When all four in parallel then equivalent resistance
1R=16+16+16+16
or, R=1.5Ω

(3) When two in series and two in parallel then equivalent resistance R1=6+6=12Ω
1R2=16+16

or, R2=3Ω
so R=12+3=15Ω

(4) When two in parallel then other two in parallel also
1R1=16+16

or, R1=3Ω
1R2=16+16

or, R2=3Ω
R=6Ω

(5) When three in parallel then one in series
1R1=16+16+16

or, R1=2Ω
R=2+6=8Ω
Therefore, we dont find 12Ω in any combination.
