Veins and arteries are the two important blood vessels that are involved in the transportation of the blood from the tissues and to the tissues respectively. In arteries, the oxygenated blood moves under great pressure generated through the ventricles. Due to this, they have thick walls and no valve as blood never flows backward under an immense pressure. In veins, the blood moves slower than arteries, so they have thin walls and have valves to prevent the backflow of the blood.
