Question

Why are valves absent in arteries and present in veins?

Open in App
Solution

Pressure in the veins is significantly lower in vein than in arteries. The presence of valves in the veins prevented blood flowing in the wrong direction.veins carry deoxygenated blood back to the heart to be pumped to the lungs. The pressure in the arteries is higher than in veins becuase the heart pumps oxygenated blood through the arteries .Becuase of high pressure in arteries blood can't flow backwards in them
