Copulation and pregnancy
Copulation is the intercourse that occurs to conceive a pregnancy and pregnancy is the period of time recorded when a fetus is implanted into the uterus and successfully leads to the delivery of the baby.
For copulation to lead to pregnancy the egg or the ovum must be present in the ampullary region of the fallopian tube and the sperm must fertilize the egg in the same region.
The reasons for this not occurring could be dependent on sperm motility, the period cycle, and the hormonal regulations in the female reproductive system.
