Solution

The artery that carries deoxygenated blood from heart to lungs for purification is known as pulmonary artery. The pulmonary artery is so named to differentiate it from the other arteries which carry oxygen-rich blood.

The large blood vessel that carries oxygenated blood from lungs to the left auricle of heart is known as pulmonary vein. It is named so to differentiate it from other veins which carry de-oxygenated blood.
