Communicable diseases:

  1. Also known as communicable diseases or contagious diseases are spread by microorganisms that are invisible to the naked eyes.
  2. The different steps taken to avoid infections are as followed:-

Boiled water:

  1. These diseases can be avoided by drinking filtered water or boiling the water before drinking.

Covering:

  1. Food items must be kept covered to prevent contamination from vectors and pathogens. Never consume uncovered food items.

Prevent accumulation:

  1. Stagnant water and garbage accumulation must be cleaned in the neighborhood to check on disease outbreaks.

Washing hands:

  1. Wash hands with soap and water after using the washroom and before eating.

Use of handkerchief:

  1. Usage of a handkerchief to cover the mouth must be brought into regular practice at the time of sneezing.

Segregation:

  1. Isolation wards must be introduced to infected patients to avoid the further spread of infection.
  2. Personal items of an infected person must be kept with themselves to check on transmission to others.

Cover nose:

  1. When a person sneezes or coughs, they must cover the mouth and nose with a handkerchief.

Getting rid of disease carriers:

  1. Destruction of mosquito breeding sites, as they act as vectors for malaria, dengue, yellow fever, etc.
  2. Destruction and preventing the multiplication of insects can be achieved by spraying insecticides and chemicals.
  3. Garbage bins must be covered all the time to prevent the breeding of flies.
