Three Prime Ministers that governed India during the 1960s are as follows:
Jawaharlal Nehru was the first Prime Minister of independent India. He was the architect of India’s foreign policy. The regions of Goa, Daman and Diu were freed from Portuguese rule during his time. He passed away in 1964.
Lal Bahadur Shastri succeeded Jawaharlal Nehru. During his administration, India, and Pakistan went to war over the Kashmir issue in 1965. He also gave the slogan ‘Jai Jawan Jai Kisan’. He passed away in 1966.
