Solution
The human brain is the central information processing organ of our body located in the cranial cavity.
The brain of an adult human weighs around 1400 grams and has approximately 100 billion nerve cells.
The main functions involved are voluntary movements, the balance of the body, vital involuntary functions, circadian rhythms, thermoregulation, hunger and thirst, processing as sensory functions, intelligence, memory, emotions, thoughts.
Inside the skull, the brain is protected by cranial meninges.
The cavities present in the brain are called ventricles. These ventricles and meninges are filled with cerebrospinal fluid which provides nutrients and cushioning effect to the brain.
The 3 major parts of the brain are the forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain in which the cerebrum, cerebellum, medulla oblongata play important roles.
The cerebrum forms the major portion of the brain which has two halves - left and right cerebral hemispheres. The left hemisphere controls the right side of the body and deals with analytic and logical thinking, language and speech, etc. In opposite the right hemisphere controls the left side of the body and accounts for creative and artistic abilities.
Cerebellum has deep convolutions and plays a major role in coordinating balance.
Medulla oblongata connects the brain to the spinal cord and has almost all vital control centers.
