  • Malaria is an infectious disease caused by a protozoan parasite Plasmodium and spreads through the bite of an insect vector-the female Anopheles mosquito which feeds on human blood.
  • The Main symptoms of malaria include headache, nausea, muscular pain and high fever.
  • The only way to prevent malaria is to take precautions against mosquito bites and avoid stagnation of water in surrounding.
  • This disease can be controlled by a drug named quinine, which is extracted from the bark of the Cinchona tree, and is used to treat a person suffering from malaria.
