An object undergoes an acceleration of 8 ms-2 starting from rest. Find the distance traveled in 4 seconds.

Step (1) :Given:

The acceleration produced in the object, a=8ms-2

The object is initially at rest. Hence, the initial velocity, u=0m/s

Time taken by the object t=4sec

Step (2) :Finding the distance traveled by the object by using the 2nd equation of motion:

We know that Distance,s=ut+12at2

By substituting the given values, we get

s=0×4+12(8)(4)2=0+(4)(4)2=64m

Hence, the given object travels 64 m in 4 sec.
