Solution

The correct option is A 50.4 kJ/mol
Balanced chemical reaction :
HCl+NaOHNaCl+H2O
Milimoles = Molarity × Volume of solution in mL
Milimoles of HCl = 0.1×50=5 mmol
Milimoles of NaOH = 0.1×50=5 mmol
Hence millimoles of acid neutralized = 5 mmol
Specific heat capacity is 4.2 Jg1 C1
Heat released (q)=msT=100×4.2×0.6=252
Enthalpy of neutralization per mole of HCl H=252J×10005=50.4 kJ/mol
