A verandah of width 2.25m is constructed all along the outside of a room which is 5.5m longand 4m wide .find
[1] the area of the verandah
[2] the cost of cementing the floor of the verandah at the rate of rs 200 per metre squar

Length of room including verandah = 5.5 + 2 * 25 = 5.5. + 4. 5 = 10 m
Widht of room inclufing verandah = 4 + 2 $\times$ 2.25 = 4 + 4.5 = 8.5
Area of Veranah = Area of room with verandah - area of room
= 10 $\times$ 8.5 - 5.5. $\times$ 4 = 85 - 22 = 63 sq m.
Area of verandah = 63 sq m.
cost of cementing = 200 Rs / sq m $\times$ 63 sq m = Rs 1260
