According to the difinition of cloning vectors -they are the DNA molecules that can carry foreign DNA segment and replicate inside the host cell, the DNA which is replicating is of the host cell or some segment of DNA is inserted into the DNA of other organism and then inserted into the host cell?

Dear student,
Cloning vectors are the DNA molecule which contains multiple cloning sites where DNA segment to be cloned is inserted. After inserting DNA segment inside multiple cloning sites of vector they are introduced into the host where they are allowed to replicate.
