Solution

The correct option is B False

Solution: A solution contains two components one is solute and another is solvent.

  • The components which are present in less amount are known as solute and the component present in larger amount is known as a solvent.

Saturated Solution: A solution in which no more solute can be dissolved at a given temperature is called a saturated solution.

Unsaturated solution: Those solutions in which the amount of dissolved solute is lower than the saturation point of the solvent is knowns as an unsaturated solution.

Making Saturated solution to unsaturated:

  • Without increasing the temperature of the solution if we add extra solute to it, it will be sedimented in the bottom of the container.
  • This can be done with the application of heat to a saturated solution.
  • The intermolecular space between the particles increases due to an increase in the kinetic energy of the particles.
  • This allows more solutes to dissolve in the solution and makes the solution unsaturated.
  • On heating a saturated solution it becomes unsaturated.

Conclusion:

So, at a given temperature saturated solution can be changed to an unsaturated solution by increasing the temperature of the solution not by adding extra solute to it.

Therefore, the given statement is false.
