Solution

Filtration process

Filtration is the technique of separating suspended solid matter from a liquid by making it pass through the pores of a filter.

Principle of the Filtration process

  1. This approach can be used to separate an insoluble solid component from a liquid.
  2. During filtration, one of the components from the mixture can flow through the filter paper while other components cannot.
  3. Water particles can pass through the pores of a filter paper in a mixture of water and chalk powder, but chalk particles cannot.
  4. The filtration medium is chosen depending on the mixture's qualities.
  5. Filtering out fine particles, for example, may necessitate a different filtration medium.
  6. Similarly, high-temperature liquids may demand a different filtration medium.
  7. A beaker or flask is positioned above a glass funnel attached to the stand.
  8. On the glass funnel, the filter paper cone has placed the combination.
