Five bulbs of 60 W each and 2 fans of 100 W each are used for 8 hours a day. Calculate the monthly bill if 1 kWh is costing Rs 1.50.

Energy consumed by 5 bulbs in 8 hrs and 2 fans in 8 hrs is
E = 5 x 60 x 8 +2 x 100 x 8
= 2400 + 1600
= 4000
Energy consumed in a month
=E x 30
= 4000 x 30 = 120000
= 120 kW
1 kWh costs 1.50 Rs
then 120 kWh will cost = 120 x 1.5
= 180 Rs only
