Solution

Hydrochloric acid is used in the preparation of Carbon dioxide by the following equation:
CaCO3+2HClCaCl2+H2O+CO2CalciumcarbonateHydrochloricacidCalciumchloride

1. This type of reaction takes place when a carbonate reacts with an acid. The Carbon dioxide gas can be collected over water.
2. Hydrochloric acid is used because they are cheap and easily obtained.
3. The property that can be seen is that it can dissolve Calcium carbonate
So, Calcium carbonates react with Hydrochloric acid to form Calcium chloride, water, and Carbon dioxide. The property that can be seen is its ability to dissolve the carbonate.
