Solution

Hydrochloric acid is used in the preparation of hydrogen sulphide by the following reaction:
FeS+2HClH2S+FeCl2Iron(II)sulphideHydrochloricHydrogensulphideFerrouschloride
1. Hydrogen sulphide is normally prepared by reacting Ferrous sulphide and Hydrochloric acid resulting in the evolution of Hydrogen sulphide.
2. In this displacement reaction, Iron displaces Hydrogen from the Hydrogen chloride.
3. The property that can be seen is the less reactivity as compared to Iron helping in the displacement.
So, Ferrous sulphide reacts with Hydrochloric acid to form Ferrous chloride and hydrogen sulphide.
