Question

Are RBC cells are living or dead

Open in App
Solution

Red blood cells are alive for few days only.

But when forming, RBCs eject their nucleus to make more room for hemoglobin. They undergo damage by bending and twisting they are subjected to during circulation but due to lack of nucleus they can not repair themselves and after about 120 days, they get worn out and die.
