The dimensions of the floor of a rectangular hall are 4m×3m. The floor of the hall is to be fully with 8cm×6cm rectangular tiles without breaking tiles to smaller size. Find the number of tiles required.

STEP: Find the number of tiles required

Area of floor of a rectangular hall =4m×3m

=12m2

Area of rectangular tiles =8cm×6cm

=0.08m×0.06m

Number of tiles required =AreaoffloorofarectangularhallAreaofrectangulartiles

=120.08×0.06

=12×100×1008×6=2500

Therefore, the number of tiles required are 2500 .
