Solution

External volume of the box =27×19×11 cm2=5643 cm3=27×19×11 cm2=5643 cm3
Since, external dimensions are 27 cm.19 cm,11 cm27 cm.19 cm,11 cm
Thickness of the wood is =1.5 cm=1.5 cm
Internal simensions =(272×1.5)cm,(192×1.5)cm,(112×1.5)cm=(27−2×1.5)cm,(19−2×1.5)cm,(11−2×1.5)cm
=24cm,16cm,8cm=24cm,16cm,8cm
Hence internal volume of box =(24×16×8) cm3=3072 cm3=(24×16×8) cm3=3072 cm3
Volume of 4 cm4 cm cube =53=64 cm3=53=64 cm3
Number of 4 cm4 cm cubes be placed into the box =3072/64=48
