Difference sine and cosine graphs :

Sine and Cosine graphs have the same shape but are translated ${90}^0$along the x-axis.

$y=\cos \left(x\right)$therefore crosses the $y$ axis at $1$, and the x-axis at ${90}^0$ and ${270}^0$.

$y=\sin \left(x\right)$ however crosses the $y$ axis at $0$, and the x-axis at ${180}^0$and ${360}^0$.

They are the same shape, but the $\cos \left(x\right)$graph is essentially shifted ${90}^0$ to the left of the $\sin \left(x\right)$graph.
