There are total of three stages of Embryonic development : Stage 1: Germinal stage:
This stage occurs within 1 -2 weeks after fertilization.
In this stage, the development occurs from fertilization to implantation of the zygote.
Fertilization occurs when a sperm fertilizes an egg and forms a zygote.
After this the organism begins the cell division and growth.
Stage 2: Embryonic stage
This stage occurs 3-8 weeks after fertilization.
This stage begins with the third week after conception.
The mass of cells are formed and becomes distinct as a human.
This stage plays a very important role in the development of the Brain.
After the conception of four weeks, the neural tube forms.
Stage 3 : Foetal stage
This period of development begins during the 9th week and lasts until birth. During this fetal period, the prenatal develops and makes important changes in the brain.
