Solution

The reactions are as follows:
FeC2O4Fe2++C2O24
Fe2+ is oxidised to Fe2+ and C2O24 to CO2 by Cr2O27.
Fe2+Fe3++e×6
Cr2O27+14H++6e2Cr3++7H2O
Thus,
6Fe2+1Cr2O27
1Fe2+16Cr2O27
Cr2O272CO2×2e×3
Cr2O27+14H++6e2Cr3++7H2O
3C2O24=Cr2O27
1C2O24=13Cr2O27
16+13=12=0.5mol.
Hence, the value of x is 16.
