Solution
Vertebrates
Vertebrata is a subphylum under the phylum Chordata.
The characterizing feature of Vertebrata is the presence of vertebrae or backbone.
Vertebrae is present in much more complex higher organisms which include fishes, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and animals.
Humans
The notochord is present only at the time of embryonic development which later differentiates into a vertebral column.
Humans have two sets of limbs for locomotion, 4 chambered hearts, and kidneys for filtration and excretion.
They have a well-developed skull and spinal cord inside the hollow vertebrae and a very complex nervous system running throughout the body.
Thus, humans are vertebrates.
