Dear student,

Length of garden, l=40mBreadth of garden, b=30mWhen garden surrounded by flower bed outsideNew length of garden, l'=40+2.5+2.5=40+5=45 mNew breadth of garden, b'=30+2.5+2.5=30+5=35 mArea of flower bed=Area of garden when surrounded by flower bed-Area of garden=45×35-40×30 ...[area of rectangle=length×breadth]=1575-1200=375m2Now, length of grassy path=45+2.5+2.5=50mbreadth of grassy path=35+2.5+2.5=40mArea of grassy path=Area of garden including grassy path-Area of grassy path=50×40-45×35=2000-1575=1425m2
