Question

Can resultant of three vectors be zero?

Open in App
Solution

Resultant of three vectors can be zero if all of the following conditions are met -

  1. If Three vectors are co planar which means that all three vectors are in the same plane.
  2. If All three vectors form a triangle together which means that they form three sides and three angles and three vertices.
  3. If magnitude of resultant of two vectors is equal to the magnitude of the third vector.
  4. If direction of resultant of two vectors is opposite to the direction of the third vector.

Hence, the resultant of three vectors can be zero.
