Solution

The function of ribosomes:

  1. Ribosomes are single-membrane enclosed organelles, present in both prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells.
  2. They decode the message in mRNA during translation and form polypeptides.
  3. Ribosomes are essential for protein synthesis.
  4. Proteins are considered as the building blocks of life.
  5. Every chemical process and damage repair in cells requires proteins.
  6. Without proteins, the cells in the body will not be able to synthesise proteins and function properly.
  7. So, without ribosomes, life will not be possible in living organisms.
