Solution

Epididymis:

  1. The epididymis is a male sex accessory duct. The main function of this epididymis is to store sperms for maturation and then transport them to vas deferens. It is a coiled tube that is attached to both testes through vasa efferentia.
  2. The wall of the epididymis is lined by thick pseudostratified columnar epithelium.
  3. Epididymis connects testes to vas deferens.
  4. When the sperms reach the head of the epididymis, they are not mature & are not motile.
  5. Sperms take 2-6 days to mature in humans during their transit in the epididymis and become motile.
  6. Their motility is reduced in the epididymis until ejaculation.
  7. They are stored until ejaculation, then transported to the ejaculatory duct via vas deferens, and finally come out of the urethra.
