Solution

f1 generation(First filial generation)

  1. It is 1st filial generation obtained by crossing two different parents.
  2. The parents are quite distinct: one is homozygous dominant for both traits, and the other is homozygous recessive for both traits.
  3. All such offspring show dominant characteristics for both traits.
  4. It is quite important for hybridization as it yields the best characteristics from both the parents.
  5. Sometimes outbreeding depression is seen in the F1 generation, i.e. reduced fitness in the offspring due to a cross between 2 distant parents.
