Solution

Magnetic field lines of force:

  1. A magnetic lines of force is defined as the curved lines surrounding a bar magnet.
  2. The magnetic field lines of a bar magnet form continuous closed loops.
  3. They are directed from north pole to south pole outside the magnet and from south to north inside the magnet.
  4. The magnetic field lines of a bar magnet bends along its length and enters the magnet again from the opposite poles to its origin.

Magnetic field around a bar magnet:

  1. Take a drawing board and fix over it a white sheet of paper.
  2. In the middle of paper draw a straight line along the length of paper.
  3. Place the bar magnet along the line and draw its boundary.
  4. Place the board in north-south direction.
  5. With the help of plotting compass, plot magnetic lines of force.
  6. The pattern of magnetic lines of force is obtained.

Final diagram show the complete magnetic fields around a bar magnet.
