Question

Diagonals AC and BD of a parallelogram ABCD intersect each other at O.

If OA=3cm and OD=2cm, determine the lengths of AC and BD.

Open in App
Solution

STEP 1 : Given

AC and BD are the diagonals of a parallelogram ABCD.

OA=3cm

OD=2cm

STEP 2 : Finding the lengths of diagonals AC and BD.

We know that diagonals AC and BD bisect each other at O, therefore

AC=2×OA=2×3cm

AC=6cm, and

BD=2×OD=2×2cm

BD=4cm

Hence, the lengths of AC and BD are 6cm and 4cm respectively.
