Moisture content and temperature are the two factors that cause the spoilage of food. When the moisture content is more and the temperature is high, food tend to spoil faster. In the rainy season, the amount of moisture in the air is more. This provides a suitable environment for the germs and fungus to grow, thereby spoiling the food. Similarly, in summer temperature is high which leads to food spoilage. So, food spoils quickly in the rainy and summer seasons.
Conditions in which food spoils quickly:
If cooked food is left open.
If milk is not boiled properly or left open without storing in refrigerator.
If green vegetables are not kept in a cool place e.g. refrigerator.
