Question

Divide: x4y4 by x+y

Open in App
Solution

As we know that a2b2=(a+b)(ab)

Then using this formula we simplify this expression as:

x4y4=(x2)2(y2)2=(x2+y2)(x2y2)=(x2+y2)(x+y)(xy)

Then dividing the expression by x+y we have:

(x2+y2)(x+y)(xy)x+y=(x2+y2)(xy)
