Solution

Autoclave:

  1. An autoclave is a machine that is used in the sterilization process of various medical and scientific equipment like glass beakers, growth media, culture plates etc.
  2. It uses steam and high pressure to kill microbes like bacteria, viruses fungi, etc.
  3. It works by heating water into steam which increases the pressure inside the autoclave, this high temperature and high-pressure results in destroying any microbes in the objects.
  4. Autoclaves can destroy all living microbes like bacteria, viruses, fungi, etc. and their resistant spores.
  5. The steam and high pressure kill every microbe except for prions which can have variable resistance.
