Structure
The kidney is divided into three regions: The outer dark cortex, medulla in the middle, and renal pelvis in the region called Hilum.
They are made up of connective tissue which extends from the cortex to the medulla.
It is mainly made up of tubules that transport urine from the outer part of the kidney to cup-shaped cavities.
It is mainly found in the apex of the medullary pyramid through which urine passes before it reaches the renal pelvis.
