Solution

Given,
Length of the rectangular tile =40 cm and
Breadth of the rectangular tile =30 cm
100 cm=1 m
Thus,
40 cm=1100×40=0.4 m
30 cm=1100×30=0.3 m
The area of the rectangular tile is given by:
=length×breath
=0.4×0.3=0.12 m2

Given,
Rectangular floor of the room,
Length =4.8 m &
Breadth =2.4 m
The area of the rectangular floor of the room is given by.
=length×breath
=4.8×2.4=11.52 m2

Number of tiles
=Area of the floorArea of each tile
=11.520.12×100100
=115212=96

Therefore, the number of tiles required would be 96.
