Open in App
Solution

To evaluate :13÷[(2)+1]

Note : BODMAS rule is used to simplify the mathematical terms in the specific order of preference of binary operations. This preference of order can be observed according to the sequence of letters of the word 'BODMAS' where B stands for Bracket(In this case capital bracket is given first preference then curley bracket and small bracket at the last), O stands for Of, D stands for division, M stands for multiplication, A stands for addition and S stands for subtraction.

Applying BODMAS rule to solve the above question, we get

Step1: Solving capital bracket first

13÷[(2)+1]=13÷(-1)

Step2: Now divide13 by (-1), we get

13÷[(2)+1]=13÷(-1)

=-13

Thus,13÷[(2)+1]=-13 .
