(i) An antacid tablet is taken when you suffer from acidity.

(ii) Calamine solution is applied on the skin when an ant bites.

(iii) Factory waste is neutralised before disposing it into the water bodies

(i) Antacids such as milk of magnesia are basic in nature. Intake of antacid neutralises the excess acid inside the stomach.





(ii) When an ant bites, it releases formic acid inside the skin which causes inflammation. Calamine solution contains zinc carbonate which is a basic in nature. It neutralises the effect of formic acid giving us relief.




(iii) Factory waste can be acidic or basic in nature which can cause harm to the quality of the water body and to the organisms living in that water body. Therefore, factory waste is neutralised before disposing it into the water bodies.
