Find the area of the quadrilateral shown below:
Given: Area (ΔADC)=16 cm2
35
Area (ΔADC)=12×(base)× (corresponding height)
16=12×AC×DE
16×2=AC×4
⇒AC=8cm.
In Area of ΔABC:a=15,b=17,c=8
s=a+b+c2=17+15+82=402=20
Area =√s(s−a)(s−b)(s−c)
=√20×(20−15)×(20−17)×(20−8)
=√20×5×3×12
=√5×5×2×2×3×3×2×2
=5×2×3×2=60 cm2
∴ Area of quadrilateral ABCD =60 cm2+16 cm2=76 cm2
