We know that, perimeter is the sum of all sides.
$\therefore$ Perimeter of the given figure = AB + BC + CD + DA
= (5x-y) + 2(x+y) + (5x-y) + 2(x+y)
= 5x - y + 2x + 2y + 5x - y + 2x + 2y
On combining the like terms,
= 5x + 2x + 5x + 2x - y + 2y - y + 2y
= 14x + 2y
