For a ratio a : b, reciprocal ratio is defined as the ratio of reciprocals of the terms i.e. reciprocal ratio of a : b = $\frac{\frac{1}{a}}{\frac{1}{b}}$ = $\frac{b}{a}$ (1 mark)

$\therefore$ The reciprocal ratio of 27:31 is $\frac{1}{27}:\frac{1}{31}$ = 31:27 (1 mark)
