Given: a circuit
To find the resistance across (i) A and D (ii) B and D.
Solution:
(i) The given circuit can redrawn as shown in fig(i)
The effective resistance of 2Ω,2Ω in series.
Rs=R1+R2=2+2=4Ω
Circuit reduces to as shown in fig(ii)
Effective resistance of 4Ω,4Ω,4Ω in parallel is
1RAD=1R1+1R2+1R31RAD=14+14+14RAD=43=1.33Ω
is the resistance across AD
(ii) The resistance across BD is also equal to the resistance across AD
Hence RBD=1.33Ω
